Context-Sensitive Enterprise Content Management System: A Novel Approach for Adaptive Commercial Off-The-Shelf Software
نویسنده
چکیده
The aim of the research is to understand how Enterprise Content Management System (ECMS) is adapted to a context-of-use within an organisation during implementation and use. It will examine the dynamics of software, use and context-of-use in the ECMS adaptation. We employ conceptual studies, empirical studies, and qualitative data analysis to support our research. We aim to develop a framework for designing adaptability and adaptivity in ECMS by employing context-sensitivity. Author

Engineering adaptive model-driven user interfaces for enterprise applications
Enterprise applications such as enterprise resource planning systems have numerous complex user interfaces (UIs). Usability problems plague these UIs because they are offered as a generic off-the-shelf solution to end-users with diverse needs in terms of their required features and layout preferences. Adaptive UIs can help in improving usability by tailoring the features and layout based on the...
متن کاملAdaptive Enterprise Architecture Modelling
Agile or adaptive enterprise architecture driven software development approach requires a modelling standard to describe the existing and to-be developed artifacts both at the high enterprise level and low, detailed level. However, a single modelling standard may not be used off-the-shelf to fully support the modelling needs of an adaptive enterprise architecture driven software development nee...

Feature-bloated enterprise applications such as customer relationship management (CRM) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) are very large scale, encompassing millions of lines-of-code and thousands of user interfaces (UI). Also, these applications are sold as generic off-the-shelf products to be used by people with diverse needs in required featureset and backgrounds such as skills, culture,...

متن کاملEvaluating Enterprise Systems Implementation Methodologies in Action: Focusing Formalised and Situational Aspects
Enterprise Systems (ES) are often the largest and most important Information Systems (IS) an organisation employs. Most ES are rented or bought as COTS (Commercial Off The Shelf) software. The use of COTS leads to a distinction between the development of the ES software—done by ES software providers, like SAP and Microsoft—and the implementation of ES software in a specific organisation. Implem...
